Sub: Declaration of Ennore Port, in Ponneri Taluk in the  Thiruvallur        District of Tamil Nadu  as Customs area under section 8 [b] of the Customs Act, 1962 for both Import and Export goods – reg.

In exercise of the powers conferred under clause [b] of section 8 of the Customs Act, 1962, the premises specified below is declared as “CUSTOMS AREA” for the purpose of loading / unloading of import and export cargo or any class of such goods including for the purpose of examination, etc.

 

DESCRIPTION OF THE AREA AND LOCATION

 

The Seaport of Ennore is located at Latitude 13^o  15’ North Longitude 18^o  20’ East and 24 km north of Chennai on the East Coast of India.

 

BOUNDARIES

 

NORTH BY: From the point [R] on the shore of Latitude 13^o 17’ 36” N and Longitude 80^o 20’ 51” E along the line drawn towards East to the point [A] of Latitude of 30^o 70’ 35.74” N and Longitude 80^o   21’ 8.85” E.

 

EAST BY: From the point [B] of Latitude 13^o 11’ 4.5” N and Longitude 80^o  24’ 8.85”  E , a line drawn towards north upto the point [A] having latitude 13^o  17’ 35.74” N and Longitude 80^o  24’  8.85” E.

 

SOUTH BY: A line drawn from a point [E] of latitude 13^o 12’ 59” N and longitude 80^o 19’ 43” E towards North East direction upto the point [D] latitude 13^o 13’ 45” N and longitude 80^o   22’ 12” E, then towards South upto point [C] having latitude 13^o 11’ 4.5” N and longitude 80^o 22’ 12” E, then towards East upto the point [B] having latitude 13^o 11’ 4.5” N and longitude 80^o 24’ 8.85” E.

 

WEST BY: A line drawn along the coast towards south from the point [R] latitude 13^o 17’ 36” N and longitude 80^o 20’ 51” E upto the point [Q] latitude 13^o 17’ 13” North and longitude 80^o 20’ 51” E, thence towards west direction upto the point [P] latitude 13^o 17’ 14” N and longitude 80^o 20’ 0.6” E, thence along the eastern banks of Buckingham Canal towards south direction to the point [J] latitude 13^o 15’ 30” N and longitude 80^o 19’ 43” E thence along the south east direction upto the point [B] left latitude 13^o  16’ 23” N and longitude 80^o  20’ 3.7” thence along south east direction upto the point [F] having latitude 13^o 15’ 19”  N and longitude 80^o 20’ 28” E and then along the shore towards south direction upto the point [E] of latitude 13^o 12’ 59” N and longitude 80^o 19’ 43” E.

 

            And all other boundaries and places referred in Ministry of Surface Transport Notification No. PD-25021/4/99-MPT dated 23.03.1999.

 

PROCEDURES TO BE FOLLOWED: -

 

 

Procedures for dealing with import / export cargo and any class of such goods etc. are to be followed as per the provisions of Customs Act, 1962 and any other laws for the time being in force in the Union of India and including as per the Notifications and public notices / circular etc. issued time to time by the Government of India.

 

            This Public notice is effective from the 1^st February, 2001.
