PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 31 / 2001
Central Government Budget for 2001-2002 will be presented in the Lok Sabha on
Wednesday, the 28th February, 2001 at 11.00 a.m.. For this, Special Period Procedure will be
observed from 23.2.2001 to 04.03.2001.
Under this procedure, while submitting the Bills Of Entry, the following CORRECT
AND COMPLETE particulars must be furnished:-

If all the
particulars are correct and complete in all respects, the Bill of Entry number will be
indicated and that of noting will be taken as the date of filing of the Bill of Entry in
all cases.
If the particulars
are incorrect and incomplete, the Bill of Entry will not be taken to have been filed in
the Custom House. Bills of Entry will be
accepted upto 16.00 hours on the above days, excepting on 28th Feb. 2001.
No notings will be
done on 28th of February 2001. Regular
work of noting will be done from 01.03.2001.
In respect of
warehoused goods all Private Bonded Warehouses will be locked and sealed at 4.00 p.m. on
27.02.2001. All pending Bills of Entry
assessed but goods not delivered, together with the keys of the bonded warehouses will be
put in a cover, sealed and handed over to Deputy/Asst. Commissioner (Bonds) before 5.00
p.m. on 27.02.2001. No Ex-Bond release will
be effected thereafter, except with the written orders of Deputy Commissioner (Bonds).
In respect of Public
Bonded Warehouses, the Preventive Officers incharge of various Public Bonded Warehouses
will seal the warehouses on 27.2.2001 at 4.00 p.m. These
warehouses will not be opened without the written permission of Deputy Commissioner
(Bonds).
Goods covered by Bills of
Entry that are presented to the Preventive Officers on or after 28.2.2001 at the Bonded
Warehouses in respect of which duty has been paid prior to 28.2.2001 will not be released
unless such duplicate Bill of Entry bear an additional endorsement by the concerned
Appraiser of Customs to the effect that TARIFF CHECKED NO OBJECTION FOR
DELIVERY BEING GIVEN, duly signed under his named rubber stamp.
PROCEDURE TO BE
FOLLOWED IN EDI SYSTEMS:
The Service Centre WILL NOT
ACCEPT Annexure-I (of Public Notice No.242/98) for Bills of Entry after 4.30 p.m. of
27.02.2001.
The Service Centre
shall be closed on 28.02.2001.
Filing of Bills of Entry in the EDI System shall resume only
after the new Budgetary Notifications are fed into the System and the NIC hands over the
EDI Server to Customs.
All the Bills of Entry that are submitted prior to 28.02.2001
will be re-assessed in case the Entry Inwards of the vessel is after Midnight of
28.02.2001.
The Preventive
Officer at Central Berth shall continue to give
the Entry Inwards of the Vessel on System during the special period from 23.02.2001 to
04.03.2001.
