It has been noticed that quite a few queries raised
in the EDI System are pending for reply from the Importers/Exporters/CHAs. In the present system, the Importers/
Exporters/ CHAs are required to come to the EDI Centre to find out any
query has been raised.
Quite often, the Custom House requires to correspond
with Importers/Exporters / CHAs and
considerable delay has been noticed in despatch of letters and respective
replies.
The Custom House has a regular updated website and
also an efficient Computer Centre. To
serve the Importers/Exporters/CHAs better and to ensure faster communication,
it has been proposed to make extensive use of electronic mail.
Therefore
all Importers/Exporters/CHAs are requested to furnish their email addresses in
the prescribed format given below to the Deputy Commissioner (Systems)
urgently. The details can also be
furnished by filling the online form posted in our Website www.chennaicustoms.org or by mail to webmaster@chennaicustoms.org.
We hope to serve all our clients better by providing
PNs/Circulars issued from time to time directly by email to all
Importers/Exporters/CHAs, send the
queries raised on Bs/E and S/Bs directly to the email addresses, send deficiency queries raised by the
Drawback Dept. directly and to send intimation of PH/communication of
adjudication orders, etc.
