GUIDANCE TO THE USERS OF AIR CARGO COMPLEX

Visitors to the Complex are required to follow prescribed procedures and may seekguidance from the AAI officials.

Air Cargo Complex is restricted to bonafide users only.Entry permits issued by AAI allows the permit holder entrance upto the Customs/AAI Officers and Examination hall only.Daily entry permit should be preserved till leaving the Complex.For entrance into the storage area, specific permission from the AAI Duty Manager is required.

Unauthorised persons gaining entry into the complex shall be treated as tresspassers and dealt with accordingly.Tresspassers can be prosecuted or fined upto Rs.500/-.

Permanent Entry Permit holders should display their passes for easy identification while in the Cargo Complex premises.

Visitors to the Complex can be subjected to frisking due to security reasons.

Persons carrying brief cases etc. are required to keep the same with them only.No briefcases should be kept unattended at any place in the Cargo Complex due to security reasons.Unidentified suitcases shall be removed by the security personnel for handing over to Police authorities.

No dutiable item or any other material should be brought into the Cargo Complex either in person or in vehicles unless specific permission (in writing) is obtained from authorised Cargo Officers.

Passengers/Importers shall personally supervise opening and re-packing of their baggages or Import packages and ensure proper locking/repacking etc. to be undertaken by AAI packers.

Importers/ exporters are not authorised to remove any item from their own baggage or packages until physical delivery of consignments is effected by AAI.

Voluntary distribution of contents from the packages during examination or later within Cargo Complex premises is totally unauthorised.

Vehicles should be parked in the parking area only.The parking fee is payable as per schedule against proper receipt from the attendants.

Vehicles entering the complex for taking heavy load etc. should obtain special vehicle permits for which no fee is leviable.

No forklift/equipment charges are being levied by AAI separately as all charges are included in the terminal Handling Charges.

Passengers/Importers/exporters who wish to entrust the work of clearance of their baggage/cargo to an Agent should ensure that the agent is a licensed Customs House Agent. For this purpose the agent should have a proper photo identity card issued by Customs. Only Customs approved clearing agents are allowed to transact business in Cargo Complex apart from importers, exporters and passengers.

In case of any damage caused to AAI property due to negligence of importers/exporters/agents, AAI may recover the proportionate cost of loss/damage apart from imposing fine.

All the contractual manpower including loaders-cum-packers are paid by AAI for the services rendered by them.Therefore, no extra payment shall be made to anyone except AAI dues against a proper receipt/challan.

All service charges including storage, forwarding, delivery, opening, repacking, usage of equipment (forklifts etc.,) etc. are included in the payment collected by AAI.

Payment of speed money or tips is an offence and users are adviced to refrain from such activities.Individuals found involved in such activities shall be dealt withsternly.

All complaints may be reported to the AAI Duty Manager or higher officials.

Any complaint about Customs may be brought to the notice of the Assistant Commissioner of Customs or Additional Commissioner of Customs whose offices are situated at the ground floor of the Import Cargo Building.

Visitors/users of the Complex desirous of giving any suggestion may meet the AAI Duty Manager/Senior Cargo Manager/DGM (cargo) or drop a written note in the Suggestion Box available near the Duty Manager’s room.

Off-loading of export Cargo from the Truck., on the Truck-dock area should be supervised by the authorised representatives of the exporter/agent. The responsibility of export cargo till it is handed over to the respective Airlines is that of the exporter/agent.

Smoking/splitting in the Cargo Complex premises are strictly prohibitied. Any violation shall be strongly dealt with including imposition of fine.

In case of special packing/re-packing works to be carried out by the Exporter/Agent with the help of special equipment and packing material, the same is permitted with prior intimation to AAI.SCM (export) ACM (Export) may be contacted.

In case crane/heavy equipments is required for off-loading an odd sized export package, the same may be allowed upon prior intimation.

In case any difficulty,Importers/exporters or other agents may contact Duty Manager, AAI, who is available on round-the-clock basis.
