Sub: Assessment of Imports against Duty Entitlement Pass Book (DEPB) under ICES – Amendment to PN 85/2001 dated 01.05.2001 - Reg.

Attention of all Importers, Exporters, the Custom House Agents and all others concerned is invited to the Public Notice No. 85/2001 dated 01.05.2001 regarding computerized processing of Bills of Entry relating to imports against DEPB under Notification 034/97-Cus., dated 07.04.1997.

 

The processing of Bills of Entry for imports under DEPB will commence from 23.05.2001 instead of from 14.05.2001.            However, from 14.05.2001 onwards, the registration of DEPB Scrip will be done in the EDI System by the officer designated by Asst./Dy. Commissioner (Group 7).    All the Importers and Exporters are therefore requested to register their DEPB Scrips in EDI System in the ensuing period so as to avoid delays in filing of Bills of Entry.

 

In case of any difficulty, Assistant/Deputy Commissioner (Group 7)/EDI in the Custom House may be approached.
