congestion - Movement of import containers from Container Terminal Yard to
various CFSs - instructions - regarding.

In
view of the joint request made by M/s. Chennai Container Terminal Ltd. (CCTL)
and M/s. CONCOR (CFS), bulk movement of the Import containers arrived by
vessels berthed upto 15.12.2001 to CONCOR was allowed as per P.N. 348/2001
dated 13.12.2001. It is clarified that
Customs has no objection for bulk movement of the containers (arrived by
vessels berthed upto 15.12.2001), to any other CFS, PROVIDED such a joint
request is made by M/s. CCTL and the respective CFS binding themselves to
adhere to the procedures laid down under P.N.348/2001 and accounting for the
containers so moved. This movement is
allowed upto 23.12.2001, for the containers arrived by the vessels berthed upto
15.12.2001, as already informed in the P.N. 348/2001. The CFSs which do not have round the clock Preventive Officers
posting, shall ensure the receipt of the containers moved under this special
arrangement, either during the working
schedule of the Preventive Officer posted for the CFS, or by utilizing the
services of the officers on payment of O.T. charges.
Further it
is clarified that the Customs has been allowing the normal movement of
containers under PNR system to various CFSs by the Steamer Agents /
others. The movement of the containers
under PNR system would continue to be allowed as usual for all the containers
including the containers arrived by the vessels berthed upto 15.12.2001.
