PUBLIC NOTICE NO.378 / 2001

Sub: Assessment of silk yarn/fabric under the coverage of sales contract – Reg.

 

            It is brought to the notice of all the importers and CHAs that imports of silk yarn and fabric under the coverage of sales contracts will be required to be registered in the concerned groups and the same will be monitored to ensure that the full contracted quantity is actually imported.  A grace period of one month will be considered if proper explanation is given by the importers for exceeding the time period stipulated in the contracts.  Under no circumstances further extension for the fulfillment of contract will be considered.  The imports under the contract will be provisionally assessed for the contracted price.  In case contract period expires including the grace period, the assessments will be finalized taking into account the higher contemporary prices under non-contracted regime as per the Customs Valuation Rules.
